We Are Here: Women in Design
HERE WE ARE. Women in Design, 1900-Today offers a critical study of the successes and working conditions of the women designers during the last century.
The exhibit presents objects created by women in different areas of design ranging from furniture, interior design, graphic design and lighting to textiles, ceramics and jewellery. Among the designers included are Charlotte Perriand, Gae Aulenti, Lina Bo Bardi and Eileen Gray. The exhibition is a production of the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein (Germany) and will arrive at the Museu del Disseny with an extension focused on Spanish design. The exhibition in Barcelona will dedicate an area to the pioneering women designers of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s as well as an area with contemporary pieces.
