SWAB Art Fair

Swab is an independent fair and experimental platform for emerging artistic proposals born in 2006.

Founded by architect and collector Joaquín Diez-Cascón, Swab is an event that brings together up to 80 galleries from the international scene and functions as a meeting point for the cultural sector on a global scale.

This edition will take place from October 3 to 6, 2024.

HUMAN SCALE AND ACCESSIBILITY

Swab defines itself as a human scale fair, giving priority to the quality of the artistic programme and the proximity of the project to the public. Humane treatment and accessibility to culture become priorities in an event that seeks, above all, to break with the hermeticism that often surrounds the contemporary art world and share with Barcelona the latest trends in the international art scene.

ARTISTIC QUALITY AND CONTEMPORANEITY

Swab Barcelona aims to bring together a representative sample of the emerging talent that is defining the future of the art market. The selection committee, the collaborating curators and the team of the fair are committed to the freshest proposals on the international scene, reflecting the latest trends of the moment and giving visibility to young and innovative projects.

COMMITMENT TO BARCELONA

Swab chooses Barcelona for its free spirit and cosmopolitan character. Holding the fair in this city means to generate a unique platform of exchange and international dialogue, a meeting between cultures united by art and twinned under the blue sky of the Mediterranean.

SUSTAINABILITY

In view of the climate emergency, Swab is committed to sustainable and environmentally responsible cultural production, reducing single-use products to a minimum and joining forces with companies that work with recycled and recyclable materials.
