The Flowers of Oruç Çakmaklı

The works of Oruç Çakmaklı, which will be exhibited at Studio Avenir in Barcelona from May 20 to June 3, 2023, are based on the belief that the most original works of art are based on the world and the theme of flowers.

According to Çakmaklı, flowers are the most passionate, most crowded, most enthusiastic, most colorful, most activist and most sensitive creatures. He has been working on this topic for the last 6 years with the conviction that these creatures, which are more important to the universe than humans, and even cling to nature so tightly in spite of humans, must be seen, understood and taught. Oruç Çakmaklı expresses his exposition in the following words: ‘Be careful, do not pluck the heads of the flowers, your heads!’
