The painter and art economist Ebru Ceylan is gearing up to bring the exhibition “Las Pinturas Que Hablan” (Talking Paintings) a concept she co-created with actress Selen Öztürk in 2015, to art enthusiasts in Barcelona, Spain, on April 19th.
The pioneering exhibition in Turkey with audio descriptions, came to life through the vocalization of narrations associated with paintings by various artists. Inspired by the lives of literary figures spanning five different movements of the republican era, celebrated characters from global tragedies, and timeless bards of Anatolia, the exhibition materialized in three distinct series: Literati, Bards of Anatolia, and Holy Age. The life stories of these literary figures were narrated by prominent personalities. This impactful exhibition garnered great success in Turkey, culminating in the production of an album that reached over 15 million listeners.
Focusing on the lives of Turkish and global literary figures, from Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar to Aşık Veysel, from Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu to Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı, from Hamlet to Medea, from Pir Sultan Abdal to Yunus Emre, this exhibition extends its reach to Europe. A collective exhibition featuring 10 carefully selected artworks from the Literati, Bards of Anatolia, and Holy Age series will kick off with a promotional launch at Studio Avenir – Barcelona on Friday, April 19th. Organized by Sezen Entertainment, the exhibition will captivate Spanish art enthusiasts for 15 days.
