Let me tell you a bit more about how all of this came to be.
A little bit about me
I’m Amelia. My creative journey kicked off way back when I was a wee seven-year-old in Portland, Oregon, throwing my first pieces of pottery. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of ceramics, mosaics, painting, jewelry-making, photography…well, you get the point 😉 With all these interests, I decided it was high time to stir up a fresh project that could house my ever-growing array of passions.
FrikiFish: where creativity swims free
FrikiFish is my labor of love to share stories, visuals, and the quirky fruits of creativity. It’s an open invitation for you, me, and all resident, visiting, emerging and established artists to share stories, events and exhibitions, artwork and more. The project is born from my desire to shine a spotlight on the incredible and varied talents in Barcelona. I’m a firm believer that our creative juices flow strongest when we tap into our wild, unconventional sides.
Why Barcelona?
I chose this city as my home back in 2004, and I have been smitten ever since. Barcelona has a rich history of creativity, however it faces struggles from the influx of mass tourism and the pervasive influence of commercial interests. FrikiFish aims to provide information without participating in the commodification of art. I do not charge artists for interviews or sharing details about their events and exhibitions. I do not try to sell you hotel rooms or event tickets.
