Art Nou 2024
Art Nou celebrates its 13th edition from June 26 to September 3 with around thirty exhibitions in galleries, institutions, and independent spaces in Barcelona and L’Hospitalet.
– Art Nou is the emerging art festival of Barcelona and L’Hospitalet, organized by the Association of Art Galleries of Barcelona, offering young national and international creators the opportunity to establish their first professional relationship with the art market, galleries, self-managed spaces, and institutions dedicated to emerging art.
– The 13th edition of Art Nou will begin on June 26 with the opening of all exhibitions in Barcelona and on June 27 with those in L’Hospitalet, where the opening event of this year’s edition will take place at the Isaac Peral Building, featuring a sound intervention by Joan Bennasser. The closing event will be held on September 3 at La Capella with a performance by Lorea Burge.
– Art Nou will offer an exhibition program with 29 shows by 46 artists under the age of 35 in 22 galleries, 8 independent spaces, and 4 institutions, along with an extensive parallel activities program that includes tours, guided visits, artist talks, performances, screenings, and actions in the various spaces participating in the festival.
– The 2024 edition introduces two new initiatives: professional days to connect the sector with emerging collectives and projects, which will take place at MACBA, and the Degree Show, an exhibition of graduate or final-year students from the University of Barcelona, Escola Massana, and BAU, as part of Manifesta.
