Joan Claret i Joan Vilacasas
Thanks to the donation of the Brigitte and Hans Robert Thomas collection, the Can Framis Museum will host an exhibition by Joan Claret and Joan Vilacasas, leading painters of post-war Catalan abstraction.
This exhibition, curated by Bernat Puigdollers and Àlex Susanna, aims to vindicate the work of two Catalan painters of the last century and to honor the German couple Brigitte Heck and Hans Robert Thomas and their heirs for donating more than two hundred pieces to the art fund of the Vila Casas Private Foundation.
The works of Joan Claret, referent of the constructivist current, and Joan Vilacasas, of the abstract movement of the 1950s, create a dialogue that addresses different stages of their private and artistic lives, such as, for example, the creation of Zero Figura, a cabbage ·group made up of artists and critics that played a decisive role in the fight against the academicism of art and in the process of consolidating abstract currents in Catalonia during the 20th century.
On November 18 and 30 at 12 noon they organize two guided tours to explain in more detail the exhibition and the donation of Brigitte and Hans Robert Thomas. You can check the rates in the following link.
