Evening with Jordi Pericot
Baubo Gallery invites you to an evening with Jordi Pericot, in conversation around the current exhibition “FUTURALGIA.”
The show is dedicated to the life and work of Jordi Pericot i Canaleta (El Masnou, 1931), a foundational figure in Catalan kinetic art and an early pioneer in merging technology with artistic and philosophical inquiry.
“FUTURALGIA” also brings a cross-generational perspective through the work of Barcelona-based artist Miriam Colognesi (@miriamcolognesi), who reinterprets Pericot’s 1984 piece MeRdA as the starting point for her own project, Kaleidoscope, the great images swindle. Her work explores themes of image manipulation, the commodification of the body, and the role of art in a society saturated with visual and media overload.
Curated by Benito Padilla Chicano and Jackqueline Girven, the exhibition is a deep reflection on memory, cultural critique, and the creative links that span generations. As part of El Masnou’s bicentennial celebrations, Baubo continues to position itself as a vital space for experimental and socially engaged art.
