Con los Ojos en la Garganta (With Eyes in the Throat)
Opening reception on Friday, September 5th from 19h
Tangent Projects presents Con los ojos en la garganta, a collaborative exhibition by visual artists Licelotte Nin and Juan Manuel Gautier. Moving between Santo Domingo and Paris, their work explores migration, memory, and cultural identity through performance, image, and installation.
The exhibition intertwines raw voices, fragmented bodies, and symbolic materials—sugar cubes, coal, pigments, light and shadow—into what the artists call “exhibitionist choreographies.” These works question representation and presence, blurring the lines between performance and visual art while addressing urgent themes of race, gender, trauma, and displacement.
Curated by Lorena Salamanca, Con los ojos en la garganta invites viewers to enter a constellation of images, texts, and installations that resist linear narratives and open new spaces for dialogue.
