Hairitage is a groundbreaking art exhibition that delves into the cultural, personal, and symbolic significance of hair as a medium for storytelling and identity. Curated by Experience Designer and Creative Director XAV and hair stylist Soleil Escamilla, this exhibition brings together real stories and a diverse array of artists from around the world, each exploring themes of heritage, self-expression, and collective memory through the lens of hair.
Exhibition Highlights
- Artists and Artworks: Featuring the work of 7 artists, Hairitage showcases a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, mixed-media and photography.
- Hairy Stories: Listen to the stories of 4 individuals from diverse corners of the globe, each sharing their unique relationship with their hair.
- Interactive Experiences: Attendees will play a vital role in shaping the exhibition experience. Through a participatory activity, they will help map the hair demographics of the exhibition, contributing to a broader narrative of identity and connection.

About the Curators
XAV (Brazil, 1994; they/them) is a Barcelona-based art agent, experience designer, curator, and creative director who collaborates with diverse artists, galleries, festivals, and institutions across Barcelona and globally, including MANIFESTA, RZM+ Festival, BRIGHT Festival, Magber Gallery,
200CENT Gallery, and ESPRONCEDA Institute. Together, they create experiences that inspire, educate, heal, and connect. XAV believes art can transform spaces and uplift humanity. Through their highly participatory and immersive art experiences, they challenge traditional exhibition formats that inspire audiences to see the world—and themselves—in new and profound ways.
Soleil (Mexico, 1998; they/them) is a hairstylist, dancer, and multidisciplinary visual artist currently based in Barcelona, Spain. Primarily focused on hairstyling ranging from media aesthetic design to salon studio work, reimagining hairstyles through creative looks. Exploring themes of identity, cultural memories, and change.
