B-MURALS is a center specialized in urban art based in Barcelona that combines support for creation through the promotion of mural interventions, residences and exhibitions.Located in Nau Bostik, the industrial complex converted into a self-managed cultural space, the B-MURALS project is promoted by Difusor, an entity that has been working for more than a decade to promote artistic interventions in public spaces.
This year B-MURALS opens 2 calls (September and March) that aim to select 6 artists or artistic collectives for each call and intervene in the spaces of the B-MURALES site at Nau Bostik during the first semester of 2021.
This type of call is aimed at the artistic community in general, especially those people linked to graffiti, urban art and the new contemporary art of the city of Barcelona and its surroundings, as well as those from the fields of illustration, graphic design or related to the visual arts and who have an interest in exploring intervention in the urban environment.
The jury will be made up of Ana Manaia and Xavier Ballaz (B-MURALS project), a representative of the management team and a representative of the Nau Bostik resident team, Marc Mascort (Montana Colors) and a guest artist. The selection criteria will follow a pattern marked by artistic quality, gender parity and artistic career.
The call will remain open from September 15th to November 15th
On December 15th, the results will be communicated by email to the winners and will be published on the social networks as well as the B-MURALS website. A second call is expected to program the interventions for the second semester of 2021, which will be published in March.
You will find all the information and necessary specifications and requirements on the B-MURALS page, or download the Open Call in English here.
