The House of Orion

Overview

In this exhibition Owen Pidcock presents a collection of masks, clothing, artifacts and artworks used in the ceremonies of a mysterious time travelling cult.
The House of Orion is a religion which practices various methods of distorting the perception of time in an attempt to control time itself. Orionists believe time has all the characteristics of a god. Omnipotent, omnipresent. Creator, destroyer. Time is all around us. We can sense the powerful effects of time but not touch it. Time is God.
Orion is an entity that can travel through time. Bend time to its will. Orion is greater than God. Followers of the Orionist faith carry out rituals that distort their experience of time in the hope of becoming closer to Orion

The artifacts in this show are hand made by Owen Pidcock himself. The mark of the makers hand is present in these items. During the act of making art, time can appear to quicken or almost slow to a standstill. Not only are these artifacts created for practicing Orionism but the very act of making them is Orionist in nature
