Artist Profile

Shyne Eghosa (b. 1975) is a Nigerian-born artist whose work explores memory, identity, and cultural displacement through bold, textured compositions. Since beginning to paint in 2023, he has developed a raw, expressive style influenced by Neo-Expressionism, Art Brut, African masks and crafts, and artists including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Paul Klee, and Manolo Valdés.

Working primarily on wood panels with acrylics, oil sticks, pastels, wood, and fabric, he draws on childhood memories, African heritage, and his experience of living in Europe. Based in Barcelona, he is the founder of Unmaking Art Studio, a nonprofit space supporting emerging artists through collaboration and exhibitions.

His work was selected for the juried Biennale di Chianciano 2024 in Tuscany. He has also exhibited in group shows in Barcelona and currently has work with Tobian Art Gallery in Florence.
