Artist Profile

Dalia Sofronie is a Romanian-born ceramic artist based in Montseny, near Barcelona. Trained in Decorative Arts and Advertising Design, she worked for several years as an Art Director before dedicating herself fully to ceramics in 2009.
Her practice focuses on contemporary ceramic sculpture, exploring rhythm, organic growth, tension and balance through form and material. Inspired by nature — human, vegetal and animal — her work investigates repetition, transformation and the silent logic underlying organic forms.
Working mainly with stoneware and porcelain, she creates handbuilt sculptures and wall installations that explore the relationship between matter, space and perception. Texture plays a central role in her work, allowing surfaces to behave almost like living skin shaped by time, pressure and energy.
She is co-founder of 137º Ceramic Art Studio.
