NOBODY OWNS THE DANDELIONS.

Overview

Lebanese artist Mayssa Fattouh invites a small group to sit on cushions and share zhourat, a traditional Lebanese infusion of wild herbs and flowers. As the tea is served, Mayssa will read texts and poems and open a conversation about hospitality as a form of care: what it means to welcome someone, how histories of dispossession shape our relationship to land and belonging, and how we care for each other and the earth.

Her work brings people together around food, collaboration and play to question everyday consumption and make room for memory, grief for land, and care.

About

Organized by Hotel Pol & Grace as part of First Wednesdays, a monthly series with The Over that opens the hotel to artists for small, participatory gatherings. This edition is led by Lebanese artist Mayssa Fattouh, whose work brings people together around food, collaboration and play.

FrikiFish Note

This sounds like a lovely opportunity to slow down and share a conversation over tea. The small-group format makes it an especially personal way to engage with the ideas behind the artist's work.
