Art Nou 2026
Overview
Running from 25 June to 3 September, the festival gathers a wide network of artists and cultural spaces, with 21 galleries, 23 independent spaces, 5 institutions and universities, and more than 110 participating artists.
The full program will unfold over the coming weeks, but Art Nou usually works as a city-wide map of emerging contemporary art: exhibitions, openings, guided routes, artist conversations, performances, and parallel activities spread across different neighborhoods and spaces.
What makes Art Nou especially useful is that it gives visitors a way into the younger edge of the local art scene. It is not just one exhibition or one venue, but a broader ecosystem: galleries, artist-run spaces, project rooms, institutions, and new artists appearing together across the city.
For anyone curious about emerging artists, independent spaces, and the creative networks shaping Barcelona and L’Hospitalet right now, Art Nou is one of the clearest entry points of the summer.

FrikiFish Note
Art Nou is a good art event to follow slowly. You don’t need to see everything. Pick a route, visit a few spaces, and let it open up the city a little. It’s especially interesting if you want to discover younger artists and get a better sense of the galleries, project spaces, and independent rooms supporting emerging art in Barcelona and L’Hospitalet.
