Searching for Silence by Ana Paul
Lab 36 is pleased to present “Buscando el silencio” (Searching for Silence), the first solo exhibition by Ana Paúl (@anapaulworld) in Barcelona. The opening takes place on Thursday, December 4th, from 5–9 pm.
Paúl’s work sits at the meeting point between the artificial and the natural. Since childhood, paper has held a special place for her—its expressiveness, textures, volumes, folds, and endless versatility.
“Thanks to paper, I can inhabit the forest in silence, transcending urban boundaries. In this ever-changing world that constantly challenges us, trees offer us a sense of protection, grounding, and permanence,” the artist explains.
The exhibition features two series, “Silent Forests” and “Silence,” which speak to one another and embody serenity within a continuous quiet, connected through the purity of white and the depth of black. A green forest welcomes visitors, serving as an initial breath that prepares the eye for the silence to come.
