Fragments Of Light in Gaza

A voyage through the lense of photographer & journalist Ahmed Sh Abu Ajwa despite facing unimaginable challenges he continues to carry the torch of hope, he is currently on the ground in Gaza.

“I was born in a besieged city, but I chose my lens to be a window to the world, not a cage.

While images of victims, body parts, and bloody scenes are important in conveying the reality of war, I prefer to document the human moments. Through the details of daily life, people’s attempts to survive, those small moments when Palestinians cling to life, despite everything. For me, these images are not just a documentation of suffering, but a living testament to resilience. They are messages to the world saying: We are here, we are still trying, we plant, we play, we celebrate, and we dream. I believe these scenes can touch hearts and draw the world’s attention in a different way, far from the bloodshed.

Through my photography, I try to focus on the small details of daily life moments that may seem ordinary at first glance, but in Gaza, they often carry a silent pain. Simple scenes that, if seen closely, may reveal the depth of the humanitarian crisis people here endure. Because even in the most basic moments, there is a story worth telling.” – Ahmed Sh Abu Ajwa
