Goddess Exhibition Opening

Wednesday, September 4 at 8:00 p.m.

Why do some women value marriage and family first, while others attach more importance to independence and self-realization? Why does the same woman behave according to the environment, as outgoing or introverted? The more complex a woman is, the more likely she is that she has many active goddesses within her.

The doctor of Medicine and Jungian analyst Jean Shinoda Bolen explains in her book, Goddesses in Every Woman, that when a woman understands her internal patterns she can overcome certain restrictive dichotomies. These internal patterns take the form of seven archetypal goddesses. This project portrays these different archetypes and their link to the present.

Laura represents each goddess with a set of digital illustrations with the simple, synthetic and colorful style that characterizes her, accompanying each one with a vase made of ceramics, opening her creativity to other techniques. To complete the exhibition, the artist will intervene the space with a mural.

Laura Liedo (1986 Langreo, Asturias) is an illustrator based in Barcelona. She graduated at the University of Valladolid in Advertising and Public Relations and postgraduate in Creative Illustration and Visual Communication Techniques at EINA School (Barcelona), she worked as art director in J.Walther Thompson and now she works as illustration full time.
