Drap-Art the International Festival of Sustainable Art of Catalonia celebrates its 25th edition with a very special program, including pioneers of sustainable contemporary art and leading figures of original urban art, as well as a large selection of emerging artists and projects.
A cultural tour through the Gothic quarter of Barcelona with exhibitions of urban and contemporary art shows the infinite possibilities of creative recycling and the use of objets trouvés to reflect on the relation between sustainability and art, and the potential of art as a tool for social transformation.
From November 18 to December 21, 2021, the center of Barcelona will be flooded by exhibitions and art installations of diverse artists from Drap-Art; pioneers of environmental such as HA Schult and Michelangelo Pistoletto, outstanding contemporary artists from Catalonia like Bigas Luna, Rafael Bartolozzi and Francesco Volsi, old masters of Urban Art such as SheOne and Shadowman (Richard Hambleton), and representatives of the local and international current Urban Art scene, like Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada and Alberto de Blobs. In addition, there will be a large selection of Contemporary Artists, including Juan Carlos Batista, Miquel Aparici, Lukas Ulmi, Gabriel Raventós, Sibylle Jazra, Anton Unai, Edgar Massegú, Mayte Vieta and many more. Several community and gender projects will also be carried out during the festival, like the Super Gothic Women by Karol Bergeret, in which the neighbours of the Gothic quarter will be the protagonists.
