Aitor Ortiz Exhibition
September 17 - October 31
Aitor Ortiz investigates the transmutation of the photographic representation on his Net and Noúmenos series where he abandons the obvious architectural theme to focus on the nature and the autonomy of the photography. He also presents new sculptures made of photographic surfaces in which the artist transgresses the traditional categories and endows his investigation of a dialectical process that questions and modifies its own terms.
Aitor Ortiz is a photographer that works with architectural space, light, and industry. He aims to control the architectural forms and the elements that compose them to represent optical illusions. He is interested in placing the viewer inside the spaces and making them have physical experiences. Ortiz has worked, amongst others with Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, his native city, and with the Millau viaduct in Southern France.
