The FabCafe forms part of a global family of FabCafes (Tokyo, Taipei, Bangkok). It’s a digital fabrication lab with 3D printers and Trotec laser cutter and you can drink your coffee too.

What makes it special? One of the largest and most well-known coworking spaces in Barcelona, Bethouse boasts 2000m2 distributed over 6 floors and 5 terraces. The cafe on the main floor is a large, open space with flexible working options. From there, each floor has a different look and feel as well as different amenities. There are many private rooms, big and small, for meetings and private calls. Small “casitas” (cottages) provide a more intimate workspace and the “taller” (workshop) provides a space for makers to do their more hands-on projects. The rooftop terrace is a great spot to catch some views of the city.
Negative points? There are a lot of people working here and the meeting rooms and calling booths can get busy.

What makes it special? Nestled into a quiet side street in the Ribera district of Ciutat Vella, Apocapoc has everything a local creative freelancer is looking for. The 200m2 space with high ceilings is unique and luminous, made of recycled and upcycled materials (they’re a green & conscientious community). There is a large terrace and space for soaking up some sun, working outdoors, exercising, or grab some fresh herbs to to add to your lunch. Speaking of food, there’s a big kitchen and top-notch vegetarian/vegan chefs who pop in to prepare healthy and delicious food.

It’s very close to the park and the beach so you can easily pop down for a swim, picnic or game of volleyball to unwind after a long day or take advantage of the sun on your lunch break. Maui has paddle boards for rent and a shower to use when coming in from the beach. The coworkers here organize morning and evening paddle sessions. There’s a ceramics studio located on the first floor, so if you fancy playing with clay to unwind, this is an option to explore!

The bright and open space is located in an old industrial building and they’ve put old pallets and other second hand materials to good use to divide up and decorate the space.
